Piper: BRAND NEW to Oxford Educational Robotics!

Computer Kit

The Piper Computer Kit is the ultimate DIY computer kit, designed to help young people to dive into an interactive world of learning and play, learning the basics of engineering, coding, and computational thinking - all while developing the skills and confidence to solve the world's big problems with technology.

Begin the Piper experience by following anengineering blueprint to build the Piper Computer Kit. The jigsaw-like wooden parts fit together and are attached easily, with the Raspberry Pi Pico microprocessor, screen, speaker, mouse and battery included in the build!

Once the construction is complete, power up the software, bringing to life a unique tool to make computing and STE(A)M hands-on, engaging and fun, demystifying computer science!

Piper’s Computer Kit helps children to learn the fundamentals of electronics, coding and engineering by continuing to build and programme their device!

Embark on adventures with two Piper platforms, both pre-loaded onto the Piper Computer.

1. Piper StoryMode: Be taken through an intergalactic journey by Piperbot and Pip, our two loveable adventurers, to explore fantastical worlds and learn the fundamentals of circuitry and computer science along the way!

2. PiperCode: Be guided through building new circuits on your Raspberry Pi and coding new programmes on your Piper Computer, taking the mystery out of coding by making it physical!

Piper have conducted Stanford developed surveys around ‘creative confidence’. These studies found that kids who use Piper show a 25% growth in creative confidence around building electronics. That number grows to 54% for children that rate themselves with low confidence when starting a Piper program. These results are from 78 sixth grade students who completed Piper lessons at two different schools.

As students progress through Piper curricula, they learn the electronics and programming skills necessary to invent solutions to the problems that surround them. These skills include building, parallel circuitry, breadboarding, problem solving, critical thinking and growth mindset.
